Each litter begins life surrounded by love — right here at Inglenook Farm, with their mum and Mamma Inglenook close by. Our girls love to be right up beside us when they give birth, trusting hands and familiar voices near as their little ones wriggle into the world.

Those first weeks are quiet and tender. The puppies spend their days sleeping, stretching, and nursing while Bonney and Josie rarely leave their side. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in bed for the new mums so they can focus entirely on their babies.

From the very first day, the puppies are gently handled as part of their daily weighing routine. This isn’t just for tracking growth — it’s the beginning of their early curriculum. Through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), we help them get used to being held, touched, and moved, building calm confidence that will serve them for life — whether they’re cuddled in a child’s arms or checked over by a vet.

When their eyes open, their world expands. They move into the larger pen in the heart of our lounge room, right in the middle of family life. Here they experience the rhythm of our days — laughter, footsteps, the hum of conversation — and they begin to explore, wobble, and play.

As they grow stronger, we gradually introduce their high-quality raw food diet from Lyka and show them the fun of toys. Each day brings new handling, learning, and discovery. We start gentle toilet training on pee pads and make daily notes on each puppy’s personality — how they respond to new things, how they interact with one another, and what makes each one unique. We also believe that true care goes beyond cuddles — it’s about health, transparency, and trust. That’s why every one of our puppies is individually DNA tested. While many breeders rely on “clear by parentage,” we go the extra mile to ensure each puppy’s results are their own. It’s one more way we make sure your future companion is as healthy and wonderful as you deserve.

Every week we hold a little photoshoot so their future families can follow their journey and see how they’ve grown. Near the end of their time with us, we complete a full personality assessment, using playful tests to understand who they truly are and what kind of home they’ll thrive in.
